Welcome to Volunteers for Health Care Today

 

VHC Today welcomes you and invites you to join us.  We are health care providers and patients who work together, beginning a chain reaction of simple, generous acts of kindness in our communities.

 

In these economically difficult times, we appeal to health care providers to join us in providing a few hours of free health care for those in your community who cannot afford health insurance.  And, we appeal to patients receiving free care to volunteer their skills, knowledge, and energy in your community – to “Pay It Forward” (see www.payitforwardfoundation.com) to others in need rather than paying it “back,” in “cash” to those not as needy. We are enriching lives by promoting the currency inherent in all people (be it goodness, skills, knowledge, energy…)… and making it a usable, valuable asset once again without having to figure out how to convert it to cash first.

Our Mission – "Make It Easy For Health Care Providers to Offer Free Hours"

 

Health Care Providers: To enable doctors and other health care providers to easily offer free health care to people in their communities as an extension of their existing practice. This means a doctor choosing to offer VHC Today practice hours uses existing staff, office space, and insurance (we provide a letter to obtain approval from your insurer – See VHC Today Documents).

 

Doctors might offer their services through this website and/or through ads in local papers, and VHC Today is set up to allow each doctor to brand their VHC Today practice hours as their own (this builds goodwill in a community): Example:  “Jane Smith, M.D.’s free VHC Today practice hours will be….”

Patients: To enable patients to receive basic health care at no cost, while asking them to use their inherent value as volunteer to “Pay It Forward” to their community.  This means patients do not have to feel as though they cannot afford health in their community… they can, all that is asked (not required… it is all volunteer) is they volunteer whatever time, energy, and talents they choose to perform an act of kindness in their life or community as payment.

 

Prospective patients can locate doctors/health care providers that offer VHC Today services through this website and/or through ads in local papers.  All VHC services are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Volunteers for Health Care Today currently is not a non-profit, for profit, or other legal entity.

Because VHC today and this website are still under development, VHC Documents are not yet for distribution or use without prior written permission.
